Visiting by Car

From A75

  • When travelling to Stranraer via the A75,  travel along London Road then turn right onto Stair Drive at the crossroads.
  • Turn left onto Cairnryan Road and remain on Cairnryan Road until you reach the roundabout.
  • Take 3rd  exit onto Harbour Street and remain on this road.
  • Stranraer Oyster Festival will be on your right after approx. 500 yards.

From A77

  • When travelling to Stranraer via the A77, remain on this road which will lead directly into Stranraer town centre.
  • On entering the town, remain on Cairnryan Road until you reach the roundabout.
  • Take 3rd  exit onto Harbour Street  and remain on this road.
  • Stranraer Oyster Festival will be on your right after approx. 500 yards.

Parking

Stranraer has five public car parks, all of which are located within a 10 minute walk to the festival grounds. Please be aware that some locations have restrictions on length of stay and require the display of a parking disc.

  • Park Primary School: Stranraer, DG9 7NW – 100 spaces (Long Stay)

Public Transport

A regular train service connects Stranraer to Glasgow and Kilmarnock via Ayr. For timetables and tickets please visit ScotRail.

A regular bus service operated by Stagecoach runs from Glasgow/Ayr/Girvan and Dumfries, as well as a regular local bus service. For timetables and tickets please visit Stagecoach.

The ferry terminal situated at Cairnryan, approximately 10 minute drive from the festival site runs daily from Belfast, N. Ireland. Please visit Stenaline for sailing times and further info.

Arriving by Boat
