The famous Loch Ryan oysters will be brought ashore to music behind a colourful procession of children from the YMCA Thursday Club who’ll be wearing their own uniquely designed t-shirts.
At 6:00pm our very own award-winning RoadRunner will get everyone moving and laughing with his fantastic, fun-packed show. Sssssssshhhhhhh….at 7:30pm we start our Silent Disco…..grab a set of light-up headphones and dance away in a world of your own to your favourite tunes.
Don’t expect the evening to fizzle out! at 9:00pm there’ll be a spectacular explosion of fireworks over Loch Ryan to light up the night sky and to let everybody know there’s a sparkling weekend of fun to come!
Saturday 15 September 11:00am – 5:00pm
Kids Bee Happy will be waiting to keep little (and large!) hands very busy! They say ‘Make your very own Sand Art masterpiece, colour in our wonderful pictures with brightly coloured sand, and best of all you get to take them home to keep. Big pictures and little pictures, simple pictures and complex pictures, something for all ages, and perfect for grownups to join in with the children. Or you can paint your own piece of pottery with bright acrylic paints’.
The Whithorn Trust will be transporting youngsters back to our region’s Iron Age : have a go at weaving, jewellery making and decorate yourself with Celtic warrior facepaint!
Settle down to storytelling by local author Cherry Dashper who’ll be reading from her brand new children’s book, but listen carefully and join in- she’ll be asking you to look for special clues on every page!
Make traditional oyster shell ‘caves’ with Solway Firth Partnership – this is how children celebrated the oyster catch in times gone by.
Roll up, roll up! Take to the stage and clown around with Circus Sensible. Learn juggling balls, scarves and clubs, poi, spinning plates, diabolo, stilts, Chinese ribbons and flower sticks.
Over at Agnew Park on Saturday there’s a fantastic 5-a-side bubble football tournamentbetween 2-4pm. If you are aged 11-16 and would like to take part as a group of five friends then just email email@example.com and your team will be entered. There’ll be time for non-competitors to have a bump around at the end of the tournament.
Also in Agnew Park on the Saturday there’ll be outdoor ten-pin bowling, have-a-go at Boccia, a primary school netball tournament and the chance to shoot a few basketball hoops. And there’s more! We’ve also a pop-up beauty salon in the Park Pavilion 2-4pm where you can pamper yourself with a mini-makeover (hair braids, nails, toes, make-up advice) and you can also make fizzy rainbow bath-bombs, hair accessories and get that all-important funky festival face-paint! Wow!
Sunday 16 September 11:00 – 4:00
In the Children’s Marquee there’ll be more from Kids Bee Happy, Solway Firth Partnership, Cherry Dashper and Whithorn Trust but….wait for it….there’s even MORE!
We have two performances from Samsam Bubbleman, only THE MOST AMAZING BUBBLE-OLOGIST ON THE PLANET! He holds no less than TEN world records and has performed in front of some very famous people including Prince Harry, Lady Gaga and at the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony.
As if that wasn’t enough, you are invited to Go Fly Your Kite and decorate your very own kite to fly outside.
To end the Festival with a bit of energy, the team from PopDance will be getting everyone up on their feet to learn a few routines and bust some moves to your favourite chart hits.
